GSIA held its Annual General Meeting & Function
Goa State Industries Association held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 24th June 2011 at Convention Hall, Hotel Mandovi, Panaji Goa.
The AGM was followed by Annual Function at the same Venue.
Shri. Digambar Kamat, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa was the Chief Guest for the function, Shri T. M. Balakrishnan, IAS, Secretary ( Industries) was the Guest of Honour and the Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Member, Planning Commission (in the rank and status of Union Minister of State) and Member, NAC, Government of India.
Mr. Shekhar Sardessai, President, GSIA while speaking at the Annual Function said that industrial development in Goa has virtually come to a standstill over the past few years. However, Goa being a small State, changing the game is relatively easier. He said "all it needs is a single-minded focus and commitment". He recommended creation of Empowered Group with representatives from Industries as well as NGO's with the task of drafting a vibrant and progressive Industrial Policy for the State which will take into account socio-economic aspirations of all stakeholders. He assured that GSIA will stand by the Government and play a proactive role in leading the initiatives on Industrial Policy reforms which are desperately needed for our State.
Dr. Sangam Kurade, Vice President, GSIA proposed the vote of thanks. The Annual function of GSIA was attended by a large number of entrepreneurs.
